A CONVERSATION

SETTING: outside fred meyer on 21st

pie: hey kristi, is that you?

kristi: hi, pie

pie: i almost didn't recognize you with that veil on. are you getting married or something?

kristi: nah, first communion.

pie: ahhh. so where you been these days? haven't seen you around much on diaryland.

kristi: you know, playing my radio real loud, bowling in the kitchen, riding roller coasters, skinning fish. and we're gonna get cable.

pie: dont forget: attending singalong rock n' roll shows where the band waits for you before they start.

kristi: oh yeah. singalongs.

pie: oh, the oregon summer. it's too good, isn't it.
